WordRider v0.54 Released
Posted by Michael on 16 January 2005, 04:44 GMT

One well-developed and useful program that has been on our site in earlier versions for quite some time is WordRider. WordRider is a graphical editor for the computer that aids in the creation of text documents designed for later on-calc viewing with the great TxtRider program for the 89/92+. WordRider is a WYSIWYG editor that supports many features such as pictures, fonts, et cetera. Essentially it's like Microsoft Word for the calculator. Best of all, it's open source under the GPL license. The WordRider Homepage is full of information and documenation, including screenshots for the curious. WordRider requires Windows 2000/XP or Linux.

Yeah, I think so. If you go to http://www.wordrider.net and see the topic "Bugs" (or whatever that is), then you'll see a list of postings that talks about it. In the last post, Vity says that one needs PreOs; TxtRider; and/or something else.

For me, the recommended AMS/HW version on a:
TI-89 => AMS 2.09; HW version 2
(Vity tested his with AMS 2.05 and/or 2.09; HW 2)
TI-89 Titanium => AMS 3.00; HW version 3

Does that help?

We're talking about the Titanium.

That means it'll probably need the Holy Titanium Trinity: HW3Patch, IceBerg, and Ghostbuster.

HELP IS ON THE WAY!!!

First, a few questions that everyone will want to know:

1. What language are you trying to do it in?

2. Which direction is the race going to happen? Horizontally like Mario or Chopper? Vertically like FallDown? Or both, like Gran Turismo?

3. What are you racing? Small car-shaped sprites? The little block off the STAT PLOT menu?

4. What screen do you plan to hold your race on: the 8x16 homescreen or the 63x94 graphscreen?

5. Grayscale or black-and-white?

6. And, most importantly, what will it be called? Everyone knows that a game must be named properly for it to be fun. You have to pick a name, but it must be the right one, the first time. (Actually, just joking. Naming is the hardest part of programming for me.)

Your answers to some questions may limit your answers to other questions.

NOTE TO OTHER RESPONDEES: Don't jump on his case if he doesn't answer to your liking. Bugger off.
