TI Releases EZ-Spot TI-84 Pluses
Posted by Michael on 5 November 2004, 13:49 GMT

[EZ-Spot 84+]Texas Instruments has created a new line of calculators specifically designed to reduce thefts of school owned calculators. EZ-Spot Teacher Packs contain TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition calculators with bright yellow cases. Each calculator also has a yellow slidecase with "school property" inscribed in capital letters. EZ-Spot calculators are sold only to instructional dealers and will cost over $1000 for a pack of ten TI-84+s.

If my school adopts these, I'll steal one and spray-aint it and carve out the "SCHOOL PROPERTY" inscription. I'm desperate to get a free calculator.

you don't even have to scratch it out, the spray paint will probably just take care of it.
the best idea would be to paint it black like the rest of them

You're forgetting something very important: It's not just the case that's yellow, it's also the back of the calculator.

Simple. Buy a slide case, and always wear it over the back while in math! Simple! The gray cover will cover the yellow, AND the encarved name! Ingenious.

Actually, the "School Property" engraving is in the front, on the faceplate.

That will complete my collection of calculators: 85/86 family, 68k family, and (not yet acquired) z80 family.
