Acelgoyobis Released
Posted by Michael on 5 November 2004, 02:56 GMT

[Acelgoyobis]Its name might be unpronounceable to most of us, but Acelgoyobis is the first pinball game for Z80 calculators. It was a few years ago that I first read complaints about the lack of such a game. At long last, we can rest our minds: Acelgoyobis is available for three different 82 shells, the 83 (ION & Venus), and the 83+ (ION/MirageOS). As for the gameplay, it's pinball. Awesome pinball with an included level editor. You might even learn a little Hungarian from downloading this.

I'm running many problems with my 83+SE, at first i send all the stages and the program itself all to the ram. but whenever i start a stage, the calc just resets itself

then i just send the program and one stage, but the game freeze at the beginning of that stage... sigh...

So much about compatibility... It should work with ION though, at least it does on VTI.

Yeah, about VTI... I cant get it to work for the life of me.
I cant transfer the ROM of either my 83+ or 84+SE. You can only do it by LPT, serial, or COM ports. No USB!!

Guess I have to go without both VTI and screen capture.

You can use TiLP to dump the ROM over any cable except direct USB.

You can also just download the Flash Debugger, which includes a functional ROM image.

Yeah, I've encountered this too. However, by manually unarchiving/archiving the tables so only 1 is in RAM, it works...but it gets annoying. And how does the calc freeze at the beginning of the stage? Did you press [Right]? At the beginning, only the [Right] key will work.

Why would this compatibility issue be happening? *starts reading the source*

Cobb..very nice man! I have been waiting for this game ever since I first viewed the idea of it on your site! You surely deserve the news item...and the great reviews for this game! I advise everybody with a z80 calc to pick this one up!

Man I like all the tables but I have to say that SPEED is the best table. The graphics and the superb gameplay are a good representation of the superbitity the maker of the table :).

That is also one of my favorite tables so far! It's awesome! Oh yeah Cobb...no problems at all on the 84+ SE model! Everything works great! Took me a while to figure out the buttons. But once I did, I realized that you have good control over everything!

Try deleting all tables and running it again. In the readme, it says the game uses tables.
