Tiny Tetris v1.0
Posted by Michael on 6 September 2004, 18:27 GMT

[Tiny Tetris] Tiny Tetris for the 89 is a very unique game. As the author, Alex Morrise, says, the pieces in this tetris clone are extremely small. Yet, that's not the reason it's so unique. Rather, it's peppered with wonderfully sarcastic text such as "Lines: Who Cares?" and "Next: A Piece." With detail and malice, the game will celebrate its victory over you with a terse "You lose. Perfect." Clearly, it is aware of the innate superiority of the TI-89 over humankind.

That looks like a headache waiting to happen. To bad I don't have an 89 to try it on.

Nah, I've got one, and it's going straight to my calculator (right after I eat lunch, that is. :-) )

Looks like a game I'd enjoy.

Here's my question: HOW DO YOU LOSE?! The game would go on forever if you actually tried...I actually found out that if the width of the board in tetris is 13 or more blocks, there is a way to never lose regardless of the blocks you get. That's why all the tetris games have 12...This one looks like it has like 50 though! That'd be way too easy/boring!

My friend, you've discovered the meaning of Tiny Tetris. You can't lose. I had trouble doing this, so that's why the screenshot I made has a big stack of pieces in the middle.

Oh man, this game looks awesome. Amazing :) That's definitely a very unique program. I like creative ideas, even if they're pointless. And even though it's pointless, it still looks very amusing. ;-) Why didn't I think of this?

It does look great! Too bad I don't have an 89... :-/

The messages remind me of that version of falldown for the 83+ where it would say things like "you suck!" if you did badly...

Can't we just get a Windows 95 CD, heat it in the microwave, and see what it says. I mean, nobody uses Windows 95 anymore I hope.

Then there is the matter of WHICH Windows 95 CD they're talking about... 95, 95B, or the upgrade version of either of those.

If you follow the link and run the hex through an ASCII converter that is what you get.

My browser shows a few little "SI", "EOT", and "BS" things among all the other characters. Must be control codes.

Haha, no, it's a joke. The guy obviously didn't know enough to find an ASCII->text converter, and so he just made up hex code, which came out like that. I knew it was fake, right away. Look at the first two digits. 12h clearly isn't equal to 'O', or 4Fh.
