Death Rally for the 83+
Posted by Michael on 10 August 2004, 17:38 GMT

[Death Rally] Patai Gergely has uploaded the final version of his 83 Plus racing game, Death Rally - The Duel. It is not complete and he has encouraged anyone with an interest to finish it. At the present stage of development, it already features realistic looking graphics and physics. Those interested can find the source code in the program zip.

Despite its current state, Death Rally is quite playable for all users to enjoy and so I would encourage you to try it even if you have no interest in working on a new version.

Looks awesome. I'm going to buy an 84 just so I can play it.

"Death Rally for the 83+"

You don't need an 84+[se]. Though, getting another calc is never a bad idea.

I don't have an 83[+/SE], and at this point, why would I buy one? An 84+[/SE] is the obvious choice.

Of course, that is if you're my family. They got a 83+(non-se) from staples. Because 'They liked the Blue Cover'.

I'm not kidding, and now my sister is complaining that her Blue83+ doesn't have enough memory...go figure. :-)

If they were that taken in by the colors, why didn't they get a TI-73 Explorer? That's funny... and very sad. Now we know how TI makes all their money: "Buy this calculator! It has cool colors!"

That's why they made color faceplates for the 84+/SE.

Well, it would be nice if it was completed :)

Now... I have a question: In the article, it says the author's name in Patai Gergley. However, his userID here says his name is Gergely Patai. Which is it?

My real full name is Patai Gergely. Patai is my family name, and ticalc.org automatically prints user names starting with the given name, which is incorrect in my case, but I can't really do anything about it (unless I enter reversed information, which I don't intend to).
