File Rating Toplist added
Posted by Magnus on 3 April 2004, 17:08 GMT

Now that we have collected a couple of ratings on the files in our archives (about 2500 of them), we have now added a toplist based on file rating. Rating will also be listed on the file information pages.

We are using a weighted average instead of a straight one. This is done so that a file that has received a lot of good ratings will get a higher average than one that has just received a few, and then the same for files with low ratings. For this reason, it is possible for a file to get a weighted average that is slightly above 10 or below 1.

So, once again, go rate files! Just select the rating you want to give the file on the file information page-

LOL! I just woke up, turned on the computer, and there was a new news article for me :)

Yay! Now we have the ratings! And it looks like ZShell is winning! Hmm... I wonder why that is? ;-)

Just out of curiosity... how did you do this weight algorithm? It's a good idea, in my opinion.

Perhaps it is winning because it is the most important program in the history of TI calculators?

<sucking up> No, Phoenix and all it's official variations (not the wanna-be's) are by far the most important! </sucking up> ;)

You're sucking up tot he wrong guy. Sure, PatD's great, but Magnus is a founding member. (Magnus in one of the Zshell guys.)

It was just a joke...anyways, I can't really suck up to Magnuns about ZShell, because 1) I have never used it. 2) I have no idea what it does. 3) I don't even own a TI-85 (the calculator it is for). Again, it was just a joke anyway. I don't think any game could ever truly be the best thing to ever come to calculators because calculators aren't meant to have games...

Agreed! TI may have not made ASM so easily accessable in future versions of calculatora if they knew that people were just going to crack it anyway.

Oh, I know. A couple articles back, Morgan told everybody to vote 10 for it. I was just making a joke about that :) But yes, I agree, it is a very important program in the history of ASM development.

I think the reason (other than being the best, of course!), is that in a comment thread somewhere people were encouraged to vote fro just that program. It has about twice as many votes as any other program ATM.
