Jonathan Katz Joins ticalc.org
Posted by Michael on 27 March 2004, 00:07 GMT

It's been a long time since we announced that we were hiring, but the wait is finally over. We'd like to welcome Jonathan Katz to our staff. Jonathan will be editing and posting reviews, posting surveys, and otherwise generally assisting with the site.

We wish good luck to Jon, and remember to submit lots of high-quality, objective reviews for him to process!

How many people applied for the position? Was it a tough decision, or did Jonathan jump out at you?

Jonathan jumped out at me. I was just walking down the street, and all of a sudden, "Boo!", and there was Jon. It scared me a great deal.

In all seriousness, we had several serious candidates to consider, and we did so.

Isn't it a bit late to be deciding on a college if he's going next fall?

Will he be able to keep working after he is at college, or will the job search become simi-anual?

We do seem to have a history of staffers quitting after they go to college, but Jon says he'll stick with us.

I haven't decided on what college I'm going to next fall because I haven't heard from all the schools I've applied to yet. And as Joey said, I'm going to stick with it while at college.

Just a question, but couldn't you just delete that post? Or "remove the text" on your own post and make people wonder what you wrote...

yeah, I think ticalc automatically adds the "http://" so he probably put one in as well...there should be a check for that...Not that the staff needs to focus on that any more than processing my java apps that I uploaded... ;) j/k

It's still showing up on my screen as two colons. Are my eyes going bad or is this some kind of weird conspiracy against me? LOL Shall I take a screenshot? This is kinda weird

They're after me too!!!! I got 2 colons also. I bet that we are being singled out for viruses or other nasty computer stuff using a predator/prey system. You know, like how if you catch a zebra, paint it red, and release it the lions will always go for the red one instead of the other normal zebras because it is diffrent. Someone problably wrote a virus that reconizes two colons in the address when you follow the link and targets that person. Darn! And I just got my computer back from the computer fixer dude because some other stupid virus crashed it!

My shrink says I'm conspiraphobic but I think he is just tring to make me come back.

hmmmm.... this is odd

i use Mozilla 1.7b and get:
"http://http// www.ianbennett.net"
^^^ (missing a colon)

and with IE 6 i get :
"http://http:// www.ianbennett.net"
^^^ (not missing a colon)

is this some weird april fools joke? ;-)
