Mercury v0.75 Released
Posted by Michael on 18 February 2004, 04:12 GMT

[Mercury]Our most-downloaded author, Patrick Davidson, has released yet another fantastic space shooter game, Mercury v0.75. This one features a scrolling background, different types of enemies, bonuses, and game saving. It's available for both the 89 and the 92+.

You'll also notice the horribly blurred image to the right. This is why we have talented and proficient people other than myself who handle screenshots :).

Wow placing the entire source in the main .zip instead of a seperate .zip, seems someone is showing off ;) I should do that myself.

Tip of the Hat to Patrick.

If you check his other programs, you'll see that he does this for everything.

Because the average downloader will just want the game, and most likely won't download the source if it's kept seperate... I however see this as more of a way to get such people to take an interest in coding for themselves by experimenting with changes to the code...

I just assumed that if they were really interested, that they'd download the source zip and view the stuff from there.

If I had tried to suggest I made the whole thing without writing any source code, that would really be showing off!

This game always reminds me of the game StarGunner. Does anyone know where you can get that game?

Cool game

This game is great...

I loaded it on, and some n00bs at school wanted me to stick it on their TI83+'s.

what idiots.

For some reason, TI gave me a copy of CellSheet for the TI89.....

I didn't think that they came free with the HW1 TI89 that had been obtained via Ebay.

LOL- I am familiar with that.
"Phil, can you send me 'intkarat'?"
"No, it won't work."
"Why not?"
"Because they're different calculators."
"So?"
"So it won't work."
"You're just saying that because you don't want to share your games."
"No, it won't work."
"I bet it would."

...

I think 80% of TI calculator owners don't know anything about their calc.

I bet it's closer to 95%. I only know about 3 people at my school that know anything about calculators. Not even the teachers know that the SEs have extra apps loaded on.

About 99.99% at my school. My friend and I and ONE teacher are the only that even know there is an OS difference, let alone processor. Plus all of my friend's knowledge came from me :)

LOL, 99.99%... that's pretty bad :) But I don't think it's much different at our school. Everybody only knows how to use the TI-82 and the TI-83/+/SE. But really, they don't know anything about it. There are only two people in the whole school who have a TI-89 (including myself), and I happen to be going out with the other TI-89 owner :)
I don't see why all schools support the TI-83+ and not the TI-89.

I'm glad it has been update from v0.40. Its sad, I rarely use my calc for games anymore. I still plan on programing for it though.

I've found the same thing. I'll pick up my calculator during class to play a game, and only find a bunch of physics notes and games I've written that are in the testing phase. The I get home to put a game on, and I'm like "why am I doing this" and don't do it. Oh well, I suppose that's for the better. T

yeah, ive noticed that the majority of my playing on my calculator is beta testing games of mine. If i want to try out a game, i usually do it on vti. I played mercury only on vti, and it is really cool. BTW, the only game recently not of my own creation that i got into was GT, which i played non stop for a few weeks. I even found myself rushing through the math sections on the SAT so i could play and try to finish the A license. And i did beat the last test during the SAT. And i still got a pretty good score (730 verbal 710 math)
