Is that hits as in requests or individual people who visited the site? You should specify or else you are lying

Well then say that. You said hits. Hits aren't requests, I think hits are unique hits to a page. So basically your 50000000 "hits" is a lie

Maybe you guys should not worry about it. It isn't life threatening. I think "hits" is an appropriate term.

You think, but you don't know? And you speak anyway? A 'hit' is every time our http server is sent a request for a document. That means an image, webpage, graphic, everything counts as one hit. We were not lying, you were mistaken.

Please do not accuse me of lying if you don't know for certain.

fine then "misleading." You dont need to be all defensive about everything you post. If I dont know the difference between hit and request then I'm sure a lot of other people wont know either. In the past every time you reached a landmark number you would always say "requests" so it is misleading to call it hits this time. look at the other posts here, other people thought it meant "unique visitors" too. Maybe you should have thought twice, not me

You are right. From now on we will use requests to indicate this type. Hits is can be an ambiguous term, but I do believe that this is legitamite useage.

more likely it's individual files downloaded -- counting every image, every html file (at least 3 of these each reload from frames), and every zip file.

there's only 273 million people in the U.S.!

do you have any way of counting unique visitors. It would be interesting to know how many people come here and how often
