Program Ideas Survey
Posted on 15 March 1999, 00:37 GMT

Several of our visitors told us they still have use for a program ideas resource, so we're giving everybody a chance to let us know what we should do. Vote on the fate of our Program Ideas section in our survey section. If you have forgotten your Voter ID and password you can use our password recovery form.

FIRST COMMENT! I think it is a good idea, but only if it is used properly. Don't send in suggestions asking for realtime 3-d fully polygonals games. This is just a calculator.

IMO it should be sorted by category (arcade game, math program, blah blah blah)
Also, when I submitted it it said results are tabulated every 3 hours. This wasn't there before, IIRC. Another symptom of the breakdown of ticalc.org?

It has been tabulated every three hours ever since the survey system has existed. The message has also been there for the whole time also.

Would it be possible to implement a Java interactive database? Have categories made by hand, as well as an uncategorized category that is automated. Whoever does the updating can take stuff from that category and put it in the new one. That way, we don't have to see all the lame ideas that people propose, and it will behave much like a windows hierarchy of folders. Kinda like your Explorer-view archive method...
