Bryan Rabeler and ticalc.org Part Ways
Posted on 5 March 1999, 03:42 GMT

We are sorry to announce that Bryan Rabeler, a member of our staff for the past two years, will no longer be contributing to the project. While Bryan has played a tremendous role in making our site a success, we are no longer able to collaborate with Bryan in a beneficial way. We wish Bryan the best of luck for the future and once again would like to acknowledge the considerable commitment he has made to the site in the past.

I hope your web site goes to hell.. for with him leaving, you are going to collapse... When useful staff members leave, all hell breaks loose... as it will break loose.....

Anarchy of the web endangered

I've read Rabeler's essay at dimension-ti and I'm strongly recommending ticalc to post a similar. It's important that the ti community receives info from both sides.

Rabeler's essay insinuates several things, but it's impossible to make out a valid conclusion without all the aspects of the case. If indeed it is as Rabeler says, then the "coordinators" of ticalc have become too powerful. This should be avoided for several reasons - the most signicant one is the (former) anarchic structure of the center of the ti community.

Since ticalc - as far as i know - haven't released their version of the story nobody should be judged.

Bryan,
I congatulate you on attaining demi-god status. Isn't it great to know that know matter what has happened the last two years, everyone has either loved you or hated you for it. You have affected the TI community (arugably) more than any other single person out there. I'd wish you good luck and tell you how well you've done with the site, but it's been said about 190 times already, so I'll let you go back and read ALL the good stuff that's been said about you, and that's what I think of you (ignore all the bad stuff).
