What's wrong with being a nerd, or a geek for that matter?

Cottyboy is right. We're sick of all those geeks hanging around all day with the internet or their silly calculators.

There's more to life than being with your computer.

true, but ask yourself, are people ever as ordered, predictable, or interesting as computers?

Hi Mr. Hypocrite! Nice of you to pontificate to us! Ever hear of the pot calling the kettle black? Well, if you haven't (or don't understand what it means), then why don't you stay off the internet. Hopefully, you'll reply to this, then it'll show you're just as geeky as the rest of us.

Just who would you have answering help email?
Nathan Haines
(Web Page)

I don't program anymore, and I don't play games anymore like I did in high school, but I'm experienced with the TI-82/83/85/86 calculators and I've used the TI-92 a couple times.

I have the 82/85/86 user manuals and I am experience with a number of diferent programming, technical, and functional issues.

Would you rather I had never gone through the phase of using my calculator constantly, learning all I could about it?

Who would you have answering email?

Geeks
Adam

What's wrong with Geeks?
Plenty. Of course, this depends on how you define a geek. I would generally say it is a person who is not sociable, not neccesarily very intelligent, and smells funny. In this case, there is most certainly a problem with being a geek. For instance, you are a geek. Anyone who asks what is wrong with being insulted obviously is looking for an easy way out.

Good, now maybe I will get a reply to the message I sent to help@ticalc.com on Jan 5, the answer to which was not covered in the automatic reply I recieved shortly there after.

Maybe the problem is that it's ticalc.ORG not ticalc.COM

I was in a hurry, I only had 2 minutes to get to my next class. I still had to quit navigator and log off the network. But I did send the email to ticalc.org (I must have, because I got the automatic reply)

That's to those of you who can't tell a non-profit organization from a commercial establishment! (I'm not putting words in your mouth, am I?)

I really have a billion messages in the box, but I am going to answer them all. If you've emailed help@ticalc.org , you may have to wait a bit because I'm still in December, but as soon as I get caught up, you'll all get prompt responces to your questions.

Actually, it's a little more fun answering help mail than I thought, and I already have a couple of more things to add to the FAQ, which I'll do /after/ I have answered more of the mail. (that's my number one priority right now!)

Feel free to email help@ticalc.org if you have trouble--you'll get the best help I can give.

At last, someone has come to their senses. I'll finally get the answer to my mail I sent a while ago...<p>

Do not use HTML tags in comment text. That's what the second bullet says. Just thought I'd let you know.

just why did so many emails get backed up? why hasn't anybody answered them before?

Because we didn't have time. We were too busy adding new sections or maintaining them. Also, because our dedicated help mail person got too busy to handle it.

We get a lot of mail in a day... in fact it's hard to feel like I'm making much progress (even though statistically I am).

A lot of email are simple things that are answered in the auto-reply, and others are not things that we answer, but each and every one has to be read and dealt with.

Some questions, however, are valid (and some very good ones) and that can take even longer to answer. I'm getting faster, though!
