Assembly-89 Mailing List Now Available
Posted on 21 August 1998, 15:04 GMT

A mailing list for discussing assembly programming for the upcoming TI-89 is now available on lists.ticalc.org. As with the other programming lists, there will be a normal and a digest version of the list available. It will also be archived in our mail archives. For instructions on how to subscribe to this list, check out the News & Lists section.

In case you haven't noticed, the 92+ and the 89 are quite different. For lack of a more obvious example, the 89 has no qwerty-style keyboard. There are other differences of course, but the net effect is that assembly is going to be different on these two calculators.

Sorry, but you are wrong. A qwerty keyboard has very little to do with the programming language. They both have a M68k processor, and thus the same instruction set. They also have similar ROM's. Ti has said so themselves.

I was told that programing would be very simlar to the 92 plus. They both are able to swap programs with each other so I guess the progamming will be the same. If you have a 92 plus, it gives you the option to send to a ti-89. The Ti-89 will most likely have the option to send to the 92 plus. Well I am back to go hunting for the 89.

Blue 3

I hope that someone would make games for this new version soon after the release.
(It is just that my usage for a TI calculator is mostly for games in my unscheduled time)...
