Attention span: 2/10 Two people, one calculator.
Controls: 1/10 *shudder*.
Implementation: 2/10 Buggy, limited.
Overall: 2/10 Wait for next release.
It's Bomberman for the 82! Not exactly. Bomberman is a game where you must strategically place your bombs, blow up obstacles, and eventually destroy your opponent. The saddest thing about this game is that it has great potential. The overall gameplay has been programmed. You can drop bombs, blow things up, and get power-ups.
Unfortunately, the game fails in many areas. First, it's a multiplayer game that requires only one calculator. Those games by nature are terrible to play with impossible controls. Use a link, please! The routines in ZTetris make it very easy to do. The controls are also very strange. Random keys seem to do random things.
MATH, MATRX, PRGM and . will drop player 2 bombs
7,4, and LOG will move player 2 up
1 and STO> will move player 2 left
3 and 5 will move player 2 right
0 will move player 2 down
CLEAR drops player 1 bombs
You get the idea. I assume this is a bug. Another problem is the graphics. Neither player looks remotely like a man (much less a bomberman). It is far from impossible to make a decent 8x8 sprite. The walls are drawn well enough. I did notice another small bug. If you incur a DRAW by killing both players, the calculators gets messed up. |
