Attention span: 2/10 As long as a midget is tall.
Controls: 2/10 Unresponsive at times.
Implementation: 5/10 Real people are better.
Overall: 4/10 Not practical.

It's sad to see one of our greatest evolutionary gifts, the opposable thumb, prostituted in foolish games such as Thumb Wars. To my astonishment, many people enjoy these games (perhaps I'm just blinded by my love of illegal Mexican baby fights.)

All kidding aside, Thumb War is a pretty well programmed game. Thumb War is also surprisingly fast (although more speed couldn't hurt.) The controls, however, can be a little unresponsive at times. This is a major negative because responsiveness is the most importation thing in a game like this. In real life, if your thumb didn't always move when you wanted it to, you'd be hurting. Graphics are this games strong point. Despite using only about 751001444130f the screen and the "less is more" style, the hands are drawn pretty well and the animation is a nice feature. There are no options to speak of. A single player would be very welcome, as it would actually make this game worthwhile.

Both players must be at the calculator in order to play. As long as both of you are huddled next to each other to play, why not just play the real thing? In the end, it is this irony that kills this game. I like its originality, but without a single player it has no practicality.
