Attention span: 4/10 Scrolling bets get annoying fast.
Controls: 6/10 Holding cards is awkward.
Implementation: 6/10 Small program, but poor interface.
Overall: 5/10 Not a great poker program.

Aces High Video Poker is a video poker game (duh) that has good graphics but poor gameplay and frustrating features.

Aces High's strongest feature is its graphics. The cards are represented by pictures, rather than text (5H, QS, etc.). Another good feature is the saving of how much money you have earned if you exit the program. The game goes downhill from there, however.

Aces High has some definite problems. Choosing the cards you want to hold or exchange is awkward. Cards are automatically discarded unless you press the appropriate F button. It would be a lot better if you chose the cards to hand back. Betting is also painfully slow. You start at $1 with a $255 limit. instead of typing in how much you want to bet, you must push the arrow key up to slowly increase the number. This is totally unnecessary and very annoying considering you have to move the bet back up after every hand.

Aces High is a game with good graphics, but an irritating betting feature and an awkward card holding system. You may want to try it out, but you won't keep it very long.
