Attention span: 8/10 If you like puzzles, it'll keep you glued. Controls: 9/10 The direction pad. Not too complex. Implementation: 6/10 Needs a much better random routine. Overall: 8/10 A damn good puzzle game. Good for people with rubic's cubes.
Loyd is a game by Alban Gervaise (a.k.a. Endive). It is a puzzle game where the objective is to straighten out the scattered pieces to form a picture. You can choose from 7 different pictures, giving the game a good variety.
If you like puzzle games, this is definitely a good one. It's a good supplement to Endive's other program Hanoi's Tower.
One problem (bug?) of this game that I noticed was that the random scattering of the pieces sucks. Often, the piece ends up barely scattered at all (one game I finished in 4 moves!). If the author doesn't feel like rewriting this routine, I would recommend simply running it for a longer time, because you don't experience the full challenge of this game unless not a single piece is in the correct position.
Overall, this is a good puzzle game, and anyone who enjoys puzzles should download it. Hopefully the next version will add a few more pictures and also fix the randomization. |
