Attention span: 9/10 Occasionally the game gets a little frustrating because of its insulting manner of not letting me clear the screen in puzzle mode.
Controls: 10/10 There is only one way the controls could have been implemented...
Implementation: 10/10 Definitely good. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Overall: 10/10 One of the greatest games ever made for the TI-85.

Time after time I find myself drawn back to the games of Martin Hock, particularly Insane Game. What is it about Insane Game that draws me back time and time again? Is it the taunting name? Is it the fact that I can get so close to clearing the screen and therefore quadrupling my score? Or is it the excitement and rivalry of the linkplay?

Insane Game v2.71 is a puzzle game that involves matching shapes. The game can be played in three ways. The first way, Puzzle Mode, is a screen full of shapes, and your goal is to clear the screen. If you achieve such a tremendous task, congratulations, because I've played it for a year without accomplishing that. The second option is Action Mode. The screen starts out about a third of the way full of shapes, and the shapes start drawing themselves on top of the existing ones. The goal is to prevent the shapes from filling the screen for as long as possible. The game gets progressively faster as you clear more shapes. The third and final way to play is Versus Mode, across the link. It is like Action Mode except that whenever you clear more than 2 shapes at a time, the extra ones are sent to your opponent. This makes for an action packed rivalry.

In my entire test of Insane Game, I only found one bug. Occasionally during linkplay, the game will spontaneously freeze for about 10 seconds. If this happens, do not touch anything. Gameplay will resume as usual. Insane Game is definately a game that EVERYONE should have in their collection.
