Suitability: 10/10 SOS does exactly what it needs to and does it well.
Ease-Of-Use: 10/10 It is simple to navigate, using the arrows and Y= to run programs.
Overall: 10/10 This is by far the best assembly shell for the 83

SOS is an assembly shell for the TI-83. It is approximately 950 bytes total excluding the help file (which I usually delete as it contains very little information). With the two library files, ZLIB, and ZGFXL, the size is approximately 1500 bytes. SOS supports both assembly and basic programs, it will autodetect assembly programs and also special BASIC programs. It supports descriptions for assembly programs. The calculator can be shut down and the contrast changed from within the shell. The size of the selected program and the usable memory remaing are also displayed. SOS's APD feature will shut off the calculator after a while of inactivity.

I think that SOS is by far the best shell avaliable for the 83. It is small, has many features such as APD, autodetection, etc., and is very easy to use. It can support virtually every program for the 83, (even Ashell programs, though Ashell can't support some SOS programs :) while other shells do not. There are many games for it and, thanks to SOS's small size you can fit in quite a few... The Auto Power Down (APD) is great for when you just leave your calc somewhere while it is still on, and it is nice to be able to just press the [ON] button to shut off the calc.

The only con I have about it is that when using basic programs and a Y= function is turned on it just exits to the homescreen or gives you an error when the basic program is run... but overall it is a great Shell!!!!
