"OurWorld" is a great Flash application. It is very useful for geography, or in my case world capitals. The program would be better if it had a faster scrolling speed, and other landmarks, not just cities. However, it is a good program and I would recommend it to anyone studying geography. I would give it a 9/10. |

Even though "OurWorld" is relatively large, I find it an extremely usefull Flash App in my Geography class, and studying for geography quizes. It even has more detail and city names than the 83+/84+ version. The app is very user-friendly, using the arrow keys to navigate, and the (+/-) keys to zoom in and out. My one complaint is that the scrolling of the globe is slow, and makes it hard to view opposite sides of the Earth.
Overall: 8.5/10 "OurWorld" is a novel program that pushes the limits of what a calculator can do. |

OurWorld is a great geography program. It is very easy to use, and has good graphics. The main portion of the program is a virtual globe that can be rotated and zoomed using intuitive keys (arrows and +/-). This is a very original program. The database of labels is good, but I would like to see some more. Some of the additional features are nice, like the ability to determine distance between two cities "as the bird flies". This is a good program that I think would be helpful in a basic geography class, and with more labels it could easily become useful for more advanced classes. |
