The flash app runs into a bug on the 84. If, with no MirageOS/Omnicalc hooks(clean install) , you have startup protection on, and then enter the wrong password on bootup, the calc is Ram Cleared, and protection is disabled.

Krolypto is a very good app to use. It blocks out other users from using the Apps menu, the Memory menu, and from turning it on without a password. However, when I use the Program protection feature, IT DOES HAS NO EFFECT. I don't know if this was due to my being unlucky and the file being corrupted somehow or if it affects everyone. Also, sometimes it does not ask for a password for the Memory menu and the Apps menu.

Overall, I give it an 8/10

Krolypto is a great way to lock out other people. There are serious problems with Kroylpto v1.4 though. With Omnicalc turned on and Apps, Memory, and/or Programs protection on, there is a way to get to the Apps, and Memory without the password.

From the Home Screen:

[PRGM] [PRGM] [APPS] then you are in the Apps menu

[PRGM] [PRGM] [2ND] [+] then you are in the Memory menu

When saying that you have to reset all memory to use Krolypto again, that is not true. With DoorsCS6 by Kerm Martain, just erase the file called "calcdb2" and Krolypto is avaliable for use again.

Krolypto is a really good way to lock out normal people, but the advanced users can't be tricked. I got some advanced and regular calculator users to try to break through Kroypto with Omnicalc and DoorsCS6:

1 out of 5 advanced users fully trashed Kroylpto's protection with only a RAM reset

2 out of 5 advanced users got past the startup lock by resetting the RAM

0 out of 7 regular users got past any Krolypto security

Usage: 9/10 (Easy, but to protect your keys, you have to archive AppVar krolypto)

Memory: 10/10 (Its an Application)

Compatibility: 2/10 (ruins MirageOS hooks, drops protection with Omnicalc, and DoorsCS6 can override Krolypto)

Encryption: 10/10 (unbeatable)

Quality: 9/10 (scrolling through programs to encrypt/decrypt take a while)

Overall w/Omnicalc and DoorsCS6: 4/10 (You're very vunerable with Omnicalc and DoorsCS6)

Overall wo/ Omnicalc and Doors CS6: 9/10 (Amazing protection)

The “Krolypto” application is great. It really encodes your programs. And the security it offers is the best around. There is no way around it except for to pull every battery. This application is that secure. So this is a must for programers and people who just don't want other people messing around with their calc.

Controls-9/10 Really easy
Memory-10/10 It’s an application!
Usage-10/10 Very Secure
Overall-10/10 Security Central

“Krolypto” is incredible. It uses 256-bit encryption. Most wireless networks only go up to 128-bit encryption, so if you trust a secure Wi-fi connection, you can trust this more. You can't bust Krolypto with a computer, and nobody even uses the TI-83+/84+/SE, so this should be safe.

“Krolypto” is an excellent program. It is very secure. I have seen how this program is much more stable in terms of compatibility with “Omnicalc” when compared to version 1.2. This program uses 256-bit encryption, which is actually stronger than what most Internet Explorer browsers use! Just don't forget your password, and you are on the way to total calculator security (well at least for a few decades). By the time this program is totally cracked, the TI-83+ family and the TI-84+ family will be obsolete.

‘Krolypto v1.3,” now with the added compatibility with “Symbolic” and “MirageOS,” is a nice little Application to protect your 83+. It has all the password protecting that one would need for their calculator, with APPs protection, memory protection and even startup protection. It is very easy to setup but I will warn you: don't forget your password. You will find yourself holding down [Del] and pulling the batteries because it is that secure.

This program is for anyone who wants to secure their calculator from others. It can also encrypt and decrypt a BASIC program so that you can send it to a friend without anyone being able to see the code. Personally, I find that it gets a little repetitive typing in passwords all the time just to run a program, but it is a good program nonetheless.
